Restoring backup copies of user files

    If your Users & Groups Data File becomes damaged, you may be able to repair the file using the AppleShare IP First Aid program.

    If the First Aid program cannot repair the damage, you can restore a backup copy of your data file.

    To restore the Users & Groups Data File:
    1 Stop all AppleShare IP servers and quit all administration programs.
    2 Remove the damaged Users & Groups Data File (inside the Preferences folder in your System Folder).
    3 Copy your backup Users & Groups Data File to the Preferences folder.
    4 Restart your computer.

    Tip: If you back up your system with a utility program, you can use it to restore the Users & Groups Data File.
